DATA LINK AND INTERCOM INSTALLATION. To ensure that the data link and intercoms are properly
connected and that the intercom directory (table 3-1) is applicable to the deployment configuration. It is necessary to
connect the data link and intercom cables W3 and W5 correctly (figures 2-2 or 2-3). The following installation procedures
will ensure that the data link identification codes and the intercom directory identification codes are correct and match the
Intercom directory provided in section II. The data link and intercom identification code is a three-digit code in which each
digit identifies either a shelter or an operation position within one of the II-Shelters. See table 2-3.

When more than one A-Shelter is deployed, each A-Shelter is assigned a number from 1 to 4 (table 2-3 X) each
I- and IA-Shelter associated with an A-Shelter is assigned a number from 1 to 3 (table 2-3 Y). Each operator position In
each shelter is assigned a number 1 or 2 (table 2-3 Z). The operator position 1 in an I- or IA-Shelter is assigned to PIC 1
and position 2 is assigned to PIC 2. In an A-Shelter, the supervisor is assigned position 1 and the clerk is assigned
position 2. In an IA-Shelter, the supervisor is assigned position 1. For example, in a single A-Shelter to I-Shelter
