REPAIR FRAME ASSEMBLY - Contd
CAUTION
Support assemblies during removal/replacement to prevent damage.
There is a spring inside the fitting assembly. Be careful not to lose it
when disassembling the fitting.
NOTE
Remove/replace procedures for the handles are identical, regardless of
the assembly on which they are used.
(1) Remove Handle, Rafter Assembly, Upper Leg Assembly, or Purlin.
(a)
Turn handle (1) to unlocked position and keep it there.
(b)
Without allowing bolt (2) to rotate, remove nut (3).
(c)
Unscrew bolt (2) from front of fitting (4) and remove.
(d)
Remove handle (1) from fitting (4). If removing handle only, proceed with replace procedures.
(e)
Separate front (4) and rear (5) sections of the fitting, being careful not to lose spring (6).
(f)
If replacing rafter assemblies (7), repeat above steps (a) through (e) for second fitting.
(g)
If replacing upper leg assemblies (8), pull ring on detent assembly (9) to release lower leg assembly (10).
Remove lower leg assembly (10) and allow detent (9) to snap back into place.
(2) Install Handle, Rafter Assembly, Upper Leg Assembly, or Purlin.
(a)
Insert bolt (2) through handle (1) and front of fitting (4). Place spring (6) over bolt (2), ensuring that it is
properly seated. Thread bolt (2) through rear of fitting (5).
