GENERAL. Direct Support maintenance functions identified in Section II, Appendix B, consist of repairing or
replacing components that are riveted or sewn. Procedures for removal and replacement of rivets are discussed in
paragraph 5-6. Refer to TC9-510 for information on metal repairs. Procedures for machine stitching are provided in
paragraph 5-7. Specific tentage repair procedures are provided in FM 10-16.

RIVET REPLACEMENT. When riveting is required on MCPS equipment to accomplish component replacement,
proceed as follows:
CAUTION
When removing rivets, do not increase the size of the original rivet hole so that the original rivet requires
replacement with a larger rivet.

Removal. Remove rivets on MCPS components as shown and described in Figure 5-1.
