REPAIR FRAME ASSEMBLY - Contd
(1) Remove Cable Assembly/Cord.
(a)
Remove bolt (1) and locknut (2) securing cable assembly (3) to upper leg assembly fitting (4).
(b)
Pull cable assembly (3) out of cord (5) loop.
(c)
If removing cord (5), slide cord (5) off purlin (6).
(2) Install Cable Assembly/Cord.
(a)
Insert cable assembly through cord (5) loop.
(b)
Align swaged end of cable assembly (3) with hole in upper leg assembly fitting (4) and install bolt (1) and
locknut (2).
(c)
If replacing cord, slide cord (5) loop over purlin (6).
Section VII. Preparation for Storage or Shipment
4-14.
PREPARATION FOR STORAGE. To prepare the MCPS equipment for storage, clean and dry the fabric sections
and other components a3 described in paragraph 3-5. Perform operator PMCS as specified in Table 2-2.
Pack the fabric and frame assemblies into the transport bags as described in paragraph 2-9. Place bags onto a wooden
pallet and store in a building, shed, or other dry place. Store the light set in its storage container. The mapboard and field
table should be packed in a wooden crate of suitable size and stored in a dry place.

PRESERVATION. If the MCPS components are to be stored without regular PMCS being performed, consult TM
38-230-2 for preservation requirements.
4-16.
PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT. Prepare the MCPS for shipment by packing components into the wooden
crate, using the original packing material, in which they were received. Strap crates onto wooden pallet.
