l Handbrake lever removed (para 4-36).
l Twelve Iockwashers
l Axle spindle removed (para 4-37).
. Hydraulic broke lines and fitings removed
TooIs/Test Equipment

l Power cluster removed (para 4-39).
• General mechanic’s tool kit
l Alining rods disconnected (para 4-65).
•Common no. 1 shop set
l Wiring harness removed from rear axle (para 4-25).
Personnel Required: Two
a.
REMOVAL
1.
While supporting rear dolly, remove eight screws (8) and Iockwashers (7), two trunnion caps (6), and rear
axle (1) from dolly. Discard Iockwashers.
2.
Remove four nuts (3), Iockwashers (4), bolts (5), and trunnion bearings (2) from rear axle (l). Discard
Iockwasher.
b.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install four trunnion bearings (2) on rear axle (1) with four bolts (5), new Iockwashers (4), and nuts (3).
2.
Install rear axle (1) on dolly with two trunnion caps (6) and eight new Iockwashem (7) and screws (8).
