the digital data link FID. The digital data link FID tests all functions of the communication data links (including the Autodin
and 405 protocol for use with dedicated and Autodin switch center lines). The test will operate with the shelter patch
panels to provide CI isolation as well as faulty cable isolation. If a cable is found to be faulty, refer to paragraph 5-11 for
troubleshooting.

INTERCOM. Troubleshoot intercom system as follows:
a.
Refer to intercom manual T031S1-4-221-1 for intercom set checkout and troubleshooting procedures. If both
intercoms check out, proceed to step b
b.
Refer to cabling diagram figure 3-1 and determine the cable that connects the intercom between stations that
cannot communicate.
c.
Refer to paragraph 5-11 for cable troubleshooting

SEGMENT CABLES TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the segment cables as follows. A Triplet 630NS
multimeter is recommended for use in the following procedure.
a.
Refer to cable wire lists in section VI of this manual.
b.
Disconnect cable at both ends.
c.
Using a test lead, connect pin associated with wire under test to connector shell.
d.
At other end of cable, connect ohmmeter between pin associated with wire under test and connector shell
Ohmmeter shall indicate 0 ohm.
e.
Remove test lead between pin and connector shell Ohmmeter shall indicate infinity.
f.
Repeat steps c, d, and e for all cable wires to be tested.

Refer to Distribution Box J-3336 technical manual for troubleshooting
procedures for the Distribution Box and power cables.
