The Imagery Interpretation (Il) Segment is operated, for the most part, at the shelter level and is covered In the sheltertechnical orders listed in table 1-1. In addition, detailed information is provided in separate technical orders covering eachconfiguration item. This section provides the sequence of operations to activate the II Segment and also includes anintercom directory.3-3. SEGMENT STARTUP.3-4. The following procedures should be followed to apply power to the shelters and the Air Conditioning Group.WARNINGThe power source generates dangerous voltages and currents thatcan cause fatal shock to personnel. Safety precautions must beobserved at all times.a. Prior to starting power source set circuit breakers on distribution box junction box assembly to off positions.b. Start power source according to procedures that apply to power source 11 use. Refer to power source technicalmanual.c. Set circuit breakers on junction box assembly to ON position.d. Refer to T O for Instructions on starting Frequency Converter.e. Refer to shelter and Air Conditioner Group technical orders listed in table 1-1 for starting procedures.3-5. SEGMENT SHUTDOWN.3-6. The following procedures remove power from the shelters and the all conditioner group.a. Refer to shelter and Air Conditioner Group technical orders listed in table 1-1 for shutdown procedures.b. Shutdown the Frequency Converter in accordance with T.O.c. Set circuit breakers on distribution box junction box assembly to OFF position.d. Shut down the power source according to procedures that apply to power source In use. Refer to power sourcetechnical manual.3-7. INTERCOM OPERATION.3-8. Each A-Shelter and I-Shelter is equipped with two intercom sets and each IA-Shelter has one intercom set Theintercom sets allow nonsecure voice communications between work stations within a shelter and between shelters. Eachintercom has 16 pushbuttons allowing direct access to 16 stations. To initiate a call, the caller lifts the handset andpresses the pushbutton for the station he wishes to call, then presses the RING switch. This action causes the calledstation’s intercom to ring.
