example, data link cables W3 should be connected from number 1 data link connectors A and B on the A-Shelter to
number I data link connectors A and B on an adjacent I- or IA-Shelter. The intercom cable W5 should be connected from
the intercom C connector adjacent to number 1 data link connectors on the A-Shelter to the intercom H connector on the I-
or IA-Shelter. The number 2 data link-intercom combination on the A-Shelter must be connected to a second I- or IA-
Shelter in the same manner, and so on, depending on the deployment configuration.

After connecting cables as described above, go in each shelter and slide XO1-1 (XIO-2 in an IA-Shelter) out of
ADP rack and remove power supply access cover.
WARNING
When the access cover is off, hazards exist due to the rotating
fan blades and the exposed electrical terminals. Ensure the
XIO power is turned off
f. Set switch SI to shelter identification number determined by cable connections as shown in table 2-4.

After setting each switch (S1), replace power supply access cover, slide XIO-1 back in place and secure front
panel fasteners

After completing the cabling and setting switch S1, the ID codes will be correctly set and the intercom directory
(section III) will be correct The system software will automatically display the ID code on the screen of each QRU video
indicator. For data link and intercom operating procedures, refer to TIPI II Positional Handbook HB19-EG79. Intercom
operating instructions are given in section III of this manual.

OPERATIONAL CHECKOUT.

The II Segment cannot be operated prior to preparation of the Shelters for use. To prepare the shelters, refer to
preparation for use procedures in applicable shelter manuals listed in table 1-1. When preparations are complete, perform
the turn on and checkout procedures in accordance with the applicable shelter manual. Turn on and checkout should be
performed in the following sequence.
a.
Start up power generators (see power unit manual).
b.
Start up Air Conditioner Group (see T.O. 35E9-170-1).
c.
Turn on and check out A-Shelter (see T.O. 10M1-7-7-1).
d.
Turn on and check out I-Shelter (see T.O.
10M-7-6-1).
e.
Turn on and check out IA-Shelter (see T.O. 10M1-7-5-1).
f.
Perform segment checkout procedures per paragraph 5-3.
