Its dimensions are 102.5 inches long, 44.5 inches high, and 41.5 inches wide, with a cubeof 109 ft . The box contains the LME components packed into the transport covers and bags. A 4,000 lb3fork lift is required to move the box. The following Warning (1) and Caution (2) are stenciled onto thebox:When end loading and unloading is required, LONG FORKS must beused. Serious injury to personnel may result from imbalanced load.CAUTIONWhen stacking, assure boxes are square. Damage to the container andequipment will result from structural failure of box.Using a forklift, place the box (Fig 0009 00-1) containing the LME into an open area preferably undercover and with sufficient space to facilitate unpacking. INSPECTIONConduct a walk-around inspection of the box, noting any damage sustained during shipping or handling.Use criteria in Table 0009 00-1. Report all discrepancies in accordance with DA PAM 738-750. Using a bandcutter, crowbar, and claw hammer, open the box carefully without destroying it, so that itcan be re-used. Unpack the box and inventory its contents against the packing slip to see if the shipmentis complete. Also inspect the equipment for damage incurred during shipment. Use criteria in Table 000900-2. If the equipment has been damaged, report the damage on SF 361, Transportation, DiscrepancyReport, or SF 368, Quality Deficiency Report.Check the equipment to see if it has been modified. If so, notify your supervisor.
