3.9.2
T h e demountable running gear consists of two-wheeled front
a n d rear dollies which, when attached to the Air Mobile Shelter,
b e c o m e an integral part of the shelter. Thus equipped, the shelter
may be towed at speeds not to exceed sixty (60) miles per hour on
highways, twenty (20) miles per hour on secondary and improved
r o a d s and ten (10) miles per hour on cross country terrain.
ATTACHING THE TRANSPORTER/MOBILIZER
3.9.3
O n e man can attach the running gear to the shelter in about
t e n minutes as follows: ( N o t e that the towing end of the running
g e a r may be attached to either end of the shelter.)
Position the front dolly at one end of the shelter and the

A l i g n the spades on the running gear with the adapter brackets.

I n s e r t the spades into the sockets and align the locking

Insert the locking pin through the aligned holes; repeat

T o attach the shelter and running gear to the towing vehicle,
p r o c e e d as follows:
a . Attach the drawbar to the towing vehicle by placing
t h e lunette eye of the running gear in the pintle of
t h e towing vehicle.
L o c k the pintle hook.
b.
c . Connect the electrical cable assembly to the towing vehicle.

T o detach the running gear from the shelter, proceed as follows:
S e t the parking brake on the rear dolly.
