Water must be treated in accordance with TB Med530. Water must have a residual chlorine content of five parts per million (PPM). Additional guidance may be foundIn FM 10-23 and FM 10-52.WARNING§Establish a safe area for lighting burner unit that Is a minimum of50 feet from the refueling, fuel storage, cooking and sanitizing area.§Extreme heat will cause burner unit tank pressure to increase becauseof fuel expansion, insure you start with prescribed pressure lAWTM 10-7360-204-13&P.§Fuel M2 burner units in servicing area only. When filling the fuel tank,always provide metal to metal contact between the container and thefuel tank. Remove spilled fuel immediately. Keep fuel tank and fuelcontainer caps tight at all times. Do not smoke and ensure that thereis no open flame in the vicinity; fire or explosion may result. Do notoperate the M2 burner units if fuel or other flammable material is onor near the M2 burner units.§Frequently check for heating of the tent or shelter wall while burnerunits are In use. Move the burner units if necessary to prevent possibleignition of the tent.c. BurnerUnits.Proceed as follows when preparing the burner units for use:(1) Following all precautions, and instructions in TM 10-7360-204-13&P (M2) or TM 10-7310-281-13&P (MBU),start the burner unit. Monitor the burner unit for proper flame color.WARNINGDo not install an operating burner unit under a sink that is not filled with water.
