TM 10-5411-200-14T.O. 35E4-177-1NOTEThe procedures in paragraphs 4-31 through4-43 are typical and apply for all panelsurfaces.4-31.DRYING WATER-SOAKED AREAS IN PANELS.a.Care shall be taken to prevent water from entering panel corematerial, since it is very difficult to remove.When damage occurs,the punctured panel skin shall be temporarily protected to prevententry of water until repair can be made.If water has been allowedto enter panel, the core material shall be dried prior to skinrepair.b.Position heat lamps around damaged area.Adjust lamps so that panelsurface temperature does not exceed 200°F (93.3°C).c.Allow heat lamps to remain in position until core materialsurrounding damaged area is thoroughly dry.NOTEDrying time will vary and is determined by experienceand amount of moisture in panel.Core material willfeel hard and brittle when dry.d.After core material is thoroughly dried, repair panel in accordancewith the applicable repair task.4-32.BLIND RIVET REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.a.Remove blind rivets as follows:WARNINGWear safety goggles for eye protection fromflying metal chips.(1) Select drill bit the same diameter as installed blind rivet.(2) Install selected drill bit in hand drill chuck.4-150
