D . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Depot Maintenance is the lowest level that can do complete repair of the
item.
Z . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nonreparable. No repair is authorized.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . No repair is authorized. (No pans or special tools are authorized for the
maintenance of a B-coded item.) However, the item may be recondi-
tioned by adjusting, lubricating, etc., at the user level.

Recoverability Code. Recoverability codes are assigned to items to indicate the disposition
action on unserviceable items. The recoverability code is entered in the fifth position of the SMR code as follows:

item at the level of maintenance shown in the third position of the SMR
code.

F . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Reparable item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose
of the item at Direct Support Maintenance or aviation intermediate mainte-
nance.
H . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Reparable item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose
of the item at General Support Maintenance.
D . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Reparable item. When beyond lower level repair capability, return to Depot
Maintenance. Condemnation and disposal of item is not authorized below

c. NSN - Column (3). Lists the National stock number assigned to the item. Use the NSN for
requests/requisitions.
d. CAGEC - Column (4). The Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code (C) Is a five-digit
alphanumeric code which is used to identify the manufacturer, distributor, or Government agency, etc., that supplies
the item.
