Ensure that top of shelter is free of ice or debris which could cause slipsand falls. When working with twist locks from on top of shelter, maintain athree-point contact with shelter as much as possible. When on top of shelter, alwaysbe aware of where other personnel and tools are located to prevent accidentalbumps and trips. Failure to follow this warning may cause serious injury topersonnel.Use extreme caution when removing twist locks. Keep hands and /or feet clear oftop hooks, top beams, and from between beams. Failure to follow this warning maycause serious injury to personnel.Use extreme caution when loosening and removing twist locks. Loosened twistlocks must be removed or they may fall, causing serious injury to personnel.NOTEIf there is difficulty loosening twist lock nut, or twist locks do not come out, it may benecessary to operate hydraulic control valve to slightly retract or extend each liftcylinder (see paragraph 2-21).h.Use twist lock wrench (Item 3, Appendix D) to loosen nuts (16). Rotate two twist locks (17) 90° andremove from crossbrace assemblies (3). Rotate twist locks 90° again and remove from top beams (2). Removecrossbrace assemblies from between top beams.NOTETwo extra detent pins are stowed in storage box.i.Remove two detent pins ( 21 and 22) and collapse each crossbrace assembly (3). Install detent pin (21)to secure crossbrace assembly in collapsed position.j.Fold two crossbrace brackets (23) over each crossbrace assembly (3).2-106
