3-7. SCREEN MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Maintenance consists of cleaning and repairing tears in screens.
a.
(1) Cleaning screen systems:
(a)
Fill two containers which will hold a camouflage screen (such as
a 55 gallon drum) with water, preferably warm.
Add sufficient detergent to one of the containers to form a soapy

mixture. If cold water is used, add liquid detergent.
Place the camouflage screen into the soapy water. Agitate the

screen to remove dirt and any foreign matter.
When screen is clean, remove it form the soapy water and place
(d)
it into container with clean rinse water.
After rinsing, hang the screen to dry.
(e)
Repairing screen systems. Repair tears in screen, if practical, with patch

material found in repair kit.
Use only the fabric from the radar scattering screen
repair kit to repair a radar scattering screen.
Use only the fabric from a radar transparent screen
repair kit to repair a radar transparent screen.
