INSPECT
a.
Test the tensile strength of the fabric around damaged areas by grasping a small fold of fabric between
the thumb and forefinger of each hand.
b.
Grip the fabric so that the tips of the forefingers touch, then tug on the fabric several times.
c.
If the fabric does not tear, the damaged area can be repaired with a patch slightly larger than the
damaged area. Refer to FM 10-16.
d.
If the fabric tears, test additional areas around the damaged area to determine the extent of
deterioration and the size of the patch needed. Repair as required. Refer to FM 10-16.
