Thereplacement factor, expressed as a decimal,indicates the average rate at which the typeof item so coded has been used by MarineCorps field units or the rate at which designengineers anticipate the item will fail, wearout, or otherwise require replacement. Allcomputations are based on a replacementperiod of one year.Therefore, areplacement factor of 0.08, applied to anitem in this stock list, indicates that eightout of every one hundred of such items usedin the end item of equipment to which this5
