G-2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - Cont’d
(a) Separate the hook and pile fasteners (1) joining the right (2) and left (3) halves of the blackout skirt together.
(b) Remove the right (2) and left (3) halves of the black out skirt by loosening the straps (4) from the underside of the
M577 (5).
(c) Loosen the wing nuts (6) securing the hold down track (7) along the sides of the M577 (5). Remove hem (8) from track
(7) and tighten wing nuts (6).
(d) Unfasten straps (9) securing upper hem (8) of M577 bootwall to loops (10).
(e) Loosen bolts (11) securing the hold down track (12) to the top of the M577 (5). Remove hem (8) of M577 bootwall (13)
and tighten bolts (11).
(f)
If antenna (14) is present, remove sleeve (15) from antenna (14).
(g) Remove all quick disconnect (16) and hook and pile fasteners (17) at inner and outer corners.
(h) Remove M577 bootwall (13) by releasing all quick disconnect (18) and hook and pile fasteners (19).
Fold the M577 bootwall with the identification label visible and stow.
c. Operation under unusual conditions. Refer to paragraph 2-10 for operation under unusual conditions.
G-3. CLEANING. Clean all MCPS fabric components with a brush (Appendix F, Item 2) and mild soapy water (Appendix F,
Item 1). Let fabric components air dry. Liner assemblies may be laundered.
G-4. OPERATOR TROUBLESHOOTING. You should perform the tests/ inspections and corrective actions in the order
listed.
