c. Stovepipe Opening. A stovepipe opening is provided so that the stack of a heating stove may be vented through the
top of the tent when needed in cold weather (figure 2-6). A drip cap prevents seepage of moisture into the opening on
the side facing up. A stovepipe shield insulates the hot stack from the tent fabric and an opening in the shield fits snugly
to keep out rain or snow (figure 2-7).
