PURPOSE OF TWO-SIDED EXPANDABLE TACTICAL SHELTER ASSEMBLY. A self-
contained transportable multi-application utility shelter. A member of family
of standard rigid wall ISO shelters to be used by branches of the Department of
Defense.

Differences Between Models:
l
The early model Shelter, Tactical, Expandable, Two-Sided (NSN 5411-01-138-
9838), provides overload protection through a 60 amp or 100 amp Model NQOB
circuit breaker panel, manufactured by Square D Company. When replacement
of the circuit breaker panel is necessary, the replacement will be Model
NQOD circuit breaker panel, which is also manufactured by Square D Company
and has the capability to accommodate either 60 amp or 100 amp service.
Model NQOD is two inches shorter in length than the earlier Model NQOB,
and modifications to the shelters are required when replacement is
necessary (see paragraph 4-7.1).
NOTE
All electrical components (circuit breakers, switches, and
wiring) used in the earlier model circuit breaker panel are
compatible with the new Model NQOD.

The late model Shelters, Tactical, Expandable, Two-Sided (NSN 5411-01-294-
9866) are initially equipped with the new Model NQOD circuit breaker panel
when placed into service.
