General.In general, the procedures fordismantling the expandable shelter are the reverse ofthose used for erection. If required for clarification ofprocedures or for identification of components, referenceshould be made to applicable erection figure (fig. 2-2).All accessory equipment, furniture, or other itemsinstalled in the shelter during use shall be removed orpositioned in center section and all external utilityservices shall be off or disconnected prior to dismantlingshelter.b.Dismantling Air-Lock Chamber.Dismantle air-lock chamber as follows.(1)Disconnect air-lock light assemblyelectrical cable from lights cable receptacle at powerinput or output panel. Remove light assembly from air-lock chamber.(2)Disconnect guy line ropes from cableassemblies to ground anchors. Remove tent pins.Remove bow spikes installed under bow frameassemblies.Note.Do not remove ground anchors.Remove cable clamp on end of cableassembly and pull open end of cablethrough installed ground anchor to freecable assembly.(3)Remove bow frame assemblies from air-lock chamber. Separate bow frames and wrap withattached guy line ropes to secure for shipment.(4)Open and disengage zipper connectionbetween air-lock chamber and air-lock adapter, unsnapand remove air-lock adapter from shelter.(5)Fold fabric body assembly for shipment.c.Dismantling Expandable Shelter.Dismantleexpandable shelter in reverse order of erectionprocedures (fig. 2-2).2-8.Loading and Unloading Expandable Shelteron Trucka.General.When expandable shelter is to bemoved to a new location which requires collapsing of theshelter and moving a long distance,the shelter will be transported by truck. Short distancemoves or repositioning may be accomplished by slidingshelter on skids, or dolly set FSN 2330-937-1175.b.Loading Expandable Shelter on Truck.Loadcollapsed expandable shelter as follows.(1)When the shelter is to be transported bytruck (2 1/2 ton M35), the procedures shown anddescribed in figure 2-5 for loading the shelter onto thetruck shall be observed.Note.Additional special equipmentrequired for loading the shelter isprovided in a kit which includes twospecial hoist support posts for the twofront corners of the truck bed, twospecial cable pivot posts for the rearcorners of the truck bed, a set of rollersfor the rear edge of the truck bed, twowinch-type hoists, a cable yokeassembly, a hoist puller, hoist pullerbracket, and straps and cables.Illustrations of loading procedures showa typical shelter.(2)During transport of the expandable shelter,the shelter shall be secured to the truck with suitable tiedowns in sufficient number to prevent shifting ormovement of the shelter.c.Unloading Expandable Shelter from Truck.Unload collapsed expandable shelter as follows.(1)Select new work site as described inchapter 2, section I.(2)Disconnect and remove tie downs fromshelter.(3)When the shelter is delivered to the newwork site by truck (2 1/2 ton M35), the procedures shownand described in figure 2-6 for unloading the shelter fromthe truck shall be observed.Note.Additional special equipmentrequired for unloading the shelter isprovided in a kit which includes twospecial hoist posts for the two frontcorners of the truck bed, two specialcable pivot posts for the rear corners ofthe truck bed, a set of rollers for the rearedge of the truck bed, two winch-typehoists, a cable yoke assembly, a hoistpuller, a hoist puller bracket, and strapsand cables.(4)After shelter has been unloaded at thenew work site, erection shall be in accordance withprocedure described in chapter 2, section I.2-30
